Does pepto help with nausea and vomiting?

I woke up this morning feeling very nauseous and then started vomiting a bit. My husband gave me some Pepto. Does Pepto help with both nausea and vomiting, or is it better for one than the other?

It definitely helps, but honestly, trying to swallow a thick pink liquid when you already feel like throwing up is a struggle of its own! It does coat the stomach and stop the dry heaving though. Just make sure you have a sink nearby just in case.

I used it during our college trip when everyone got sick from the hostel mess food. It literally saved us from puking in the bus. It works pretty fast, so keep a small bottle in your backpack.

Yeah it works. I had a bad stomach infection last month and Pepto helped calm down the nausea in like 30 minutes. Just don't overdo it, stick to the dose on the bottle.

At my age, eating a single oily paratha can trigger a whole day of nausea. Pepto is my trusty old companion for these self-inflicted food disasters. It works fine, but the real solution is me accepting that I can't digest food like an 18-year-old anymore!

Since I have thyroid issues, severe vomiting can really throw off my daily medication routine. I use Pepto to control the nausea temporarily so I can keep my thyroid tablet down. But if this happens often, please consult your doctor and get your thyroid levels checked.

Instead of buying expensive imported tablets, a basic bottle of Pepto is a very practical thing to keep at home for sudden stomach bugs. It handles both nausea and loose motions well. Just combine it with simple home-cooked khichdi once your stomach settles.

It absolutely does! It's like a shield for your stomach when you feel super green. Just rest up, sip some warm water, and you will feel back to normal very soon.

I was researching active ingredients and found that bismuth subsalicylate in Pepto is what actually targets the gut bacteria causing nausea. It is quite fascinating how it works. Has anyone here experienced any side effects besides the dark tongue?

Haan ji, pet ke dukhne aur ulti jaisa lagne mein yeh bahut aaram deti hai. Isko lene ke baad thodi der chupchap let jaiye aur pankhe ki thandi hawa khaiye, mann shaant ho jayega.

My family always recommends ginger tea or curry leaves for nausea first. But if the vomiting is hard to control, a dose of Pepto can provide quick relief. However, if it continues for more than a day, please visit your local clinic to avoid severe dehydration.
