Does peanut butter help you sleep?

I often struggle with falling asleep, and I heard somewhere that eating peanut butter before bed might help. Is this true? Does peanut butter actually help you sleep better, or is it just an old wives' tale?

Haan, it actually works! Peanuts contain tryptophan which helps the body relax na. I usually take half a spoon right before bed when I feel restless and it definitely calms me down.

A light snack like peanut butter can help, but nothing beats physical fatigue for a good night's rest. Try adding a 30-minute evening walk if your body allows it. Combined with good food, your sleep quality will definitely improve.

I totally get it, sleepless nights are the absolute worst. A small spoonful of peanut butter before sleeping can stabilize your blood sugar so you don't wake up hungry at 3 AM. It really helped me during my stressful phases.

My doctor told me that peanut butter has a good balance of protein and fats which prevents nighttime hypoglycemia, a common cause of middle-of-the-night waking. He advised having it with a small cracker about an hour before sleep.

Our elders always suggested warm milk with turmeric for sleep, but my family doctor said a little peanut butter is also quite good for the nervous system. You can try both and see what suits your body best.

Honestly, don't believe all these random internet sleep hacks. If you are struggling with chronic insomnia, peanut butter won't solve it and might just give you acidity instead. It is best to consult a medical professional.

I track my sleep cycles on my smartwatch daily. I noticed that on days I eat a tiny bit of peanut butter before 9 PM, my deep sleep score actually improves. It might be due to the magnesium content in peanuts.
