Does pcos make you crave sugar?

I've been having intense sugar cravings lately, much more than before. I was diagnosed with PCOS last year, and I'm wondering if this could be a symptom. Does PCOS make you crave sugar a lot?

Actually, the sugar cravings are insane, yaar! My sister has PCOS and around 4 PM she would get this desperate urge to eat chocolate. Her doctor told us it is because of insulin resistance, not just lack of willpower.

Yes, when the body's internal balance is disturbed, it constantly seeks quick energy through sugar. Practicing deep breathing and eating naturally sweet fruits like raisins or dates in moderation can help calm these sudden urges. Treat your body with gentleness.

Having thyroid issues myself, I know how metabolic disorders cause terrible food cravings. It is very important to get your HbA1c and fasting insulin tested regularly to see how your body is handling glucose. Work with your doctor to adjust your treatment based on these reports.

Oh absolutely, those late-night ice cream cravings are real! Don't stress too much or feel guilty about it, it is just your hormones playing games. Try swapping milk chocolate with a piece of dark chocolate, it really helps satisfy the sweet tooth without a major sugar spike.

I used to beat myself up thinking I had zero self-control when I would devour sweets. Once I understood that insulin resistance causes these crashes, I started eating more protein-rich meals and the cravings reduced dramatically. You are not weak, it is just biology!
