Does pcos make periods more painful?

My periods have always been difficult, but since my PCOS diagnosis, the pain has become almost unbearable sometimes. I wanted to ask if PCOS has a tendency to make periods significantly more painful than they usually are.

My grandmother always suggests drinking warm cumin water for menstrual pain, which does help calm the stomach. However, with PCOS, because periods are irregular, the lining builds up more and can cause very heavy, painful cramping. Please consult your doctor if the pain is too severe to manage.

My sister has PCOS and her period cramps used to be so bad she couldn't leave her bed for two days. She started taking some specific supplements prescribed by her doctor and focused on regular walks, and she says it is much better now.

Yes, it can, because irregular cycles often lead to a heavier flow and stronger uterine contractions. Keep a hot water bag ready and you can ask your pharmacist for a mild antispasmodic if the cramps are bad. Just make sure you aren't self-medicating with heavy painkillers regularly.

Look, when periods are delayed for months, the flow is bound to be heavier and more painful. Stop eating processed foods that cause inflammation and get your health checked properly. Don't just suffer through the pain every month.

Between the night shifts and my PCOS, my periods feel like a horror movie with extra pain. When the cramps hit, I just wrap myself like a burrito with my heating pad and hope for the best. Honestly, getting good sleep is the only thing that reduces the intensity for me.
