Does parkinson's cause pain?

My elderly mother has been diagnosed with Parkinson's, and she seems to be in a lot of discomfort recently, saying she feels pain everywhere. We were always told Parkinson's affects movement, but does it also cause general body pain?

Pain can indeed be a symptom of Parkinson's, but it can also be due to other underlying issues. It is always safest to get a proper clinical evaluation from a neurologist. Please do not ignore it or try to self-diagnose at home.

Yes, muscle stiffness can cause quite a bit of pain! But don't worry, proper stretching and regular check-ups with the doctor can keep it under control. Stay positive and keep moving, you've got this! 😊

I completely understand how scary it is to search for these symptoms and worry about the pain. It is very common to feel anxious when dealing with Parkinson's-related pain. Just know that these physical aches are known symptoms, and talking to your doctor will help ease your mind.

Listen, don't panic. Yes, Parkinson's can cause some pain and stiffness, but there are excellent ways to manage it these days. Make sure they are taking their prescribed medicines on time and don't let them skip their daily doctor-approved movements.

I was actually reading a medical blog on this yesterday because my neighbor has it. Apparently, the brain changes in Parkinson's also affect how the body perceives pain, plus the muscle rigidity adds to it. It's quite a common issue.

Yes, it causes pain. Instead of searching online and delaying, schedule an appointment with their neurologist as soon as possible. They can adjust the dopaminergic therapy which usually helps with the pain.

Yes, muscular pain is common due to rigidity. If the doctor gives the green light, starting a routine of very light walking and mild stretching can help keep the joints flexible and reduce that constant ache.

Yes, it can make your muscles feel like they've done a heavy gym workout without actually lifting any weights! Just don't let it stress you out too much—get the doc to tweak the medicines and you'll be fine.

I remember getting so scared when my father started complaining of deep muscle pain, I thought something else was seriously wrong. But the neurologist reassured us that it's a very standard part of Parkinson's and easily manageable with the right medication adjustments. It gets better, don't worry.

It is very painful to watch our elders suffer from this stiffness. Warm compress and gentle massage with simple mustard oil gave my mother temporary relief at night, but always keep their doctor informed about how severe the pain is.
