Does pancreatic cancer cause diarrhea?

My neighbour, who has pancreatic cancer, has been having severe bouts of diarrhea. Is this a common symptom or side effect of pancreatic cancer itself?

In our family, when my elder brother was diagnosed, he did have very loose, oily-looking stools for a few weeks before we went to the clinic. I can't give medical advice on why it happens, but that digestive change was definitely one of the first signs we noticed.

Yes, it can cause changes in stool because the pancreas stops producing the enzymes needed to digest fats. When we were consulting at Medanta, the specialists clearly explained that these digestive symptoms are common. You should book an appointment with a gastroenterologist and ask all your doubts clearly.

Bhai, yes, when the stomach cannot digest food properly because of pancreas trouble, loose motions can happen. Please don't ignore this if it is happening regularly. Go to a good town doctor and get a checkup done quickly, we are praying for your health.

Oh god, even reading about this makes me so anxious because any stomach issue makes me think the worst. Yes, pancreatic issues can cause diarrhea because fats don't get absorbed, resulting in greasy stools. Please get it checked by a specialist so you can get peace of mind and stop worrying.

Yes, it can cause severe diarrhea and pale, greasy stools because of poor fat digestion. Best to see a doctor immediately.

Since I deal with PCOS, I know how easily gut health gets messed up when hormones and enzymes are off, but pancreatic symptoms can be more serious. Diarrhea can happen if the pancreas isn't releasing digestive enzymes properly. I would recommend talking to a doctor to be absolutely safe instead of guessing.

Haan, pancreatic issues make digestion fully upset, so diarrhea and oily stools are quite common, na. Agar coordinate nahi ho raha digestion properly, toh doctor ko dikhana hi padega. Tension mat lo, checkup karva lo ek baar.

Yes, when the pancreas isn't functioning, your body can't break down macronutrients, especially fats, which leads to chronic diarrhea. Even if you are eating clean and working out, you won't absorb nutrients. Please consult a gastroenterologist first before making any diet changes.

Any persistent change in your bowel habits, like ongoing diarrhea or unusually light-colored stools, needs immediate attention. It could be due to the pancreas, but only clinical tests can confirm. Please do not delay and get a proper diagnosis for your safety.
