Does oxycodone make you sleep?

My doctor recently prescribed Oxycodone for my post-surgery pain. I'm wondering if it's common for this medication to cause drowsiness or make you feel sleepy, as I need to manage my daily activities accordingly.

Drowsiness is a common effect, but excessive sleepiness can sometimes be a sign of a high dose. Please get it checked by your doctor to ensure your dosage is safe for your body. It is always better to be safe than sorry.

It definitely causes heavy drowsiness, which can make you fall asleep quickly. If you are working or driving, you have to be extremely careful with the timing of your dose. Check with your doctor about how to manage your schedule.

I was on this after my major knee surgery. It absolutely puts you to sleep because it is a strong narcotic blocker for pain. My tip is to take it right before your planned resting hours so the drowsiness doesn't disrupt your day.

Taking heavy pain medicine just to get sleep is not good for long-term health. Simple herbal teas or keeping a quiet room can help for normal sleep issues. But if your pain is so severe that you can't sleep without this, please consult your doctor immediately.

I remember getting so scared when I couldn't keep my eyes open after taking my dose. I thought I was going into a deep coma or something! But my doctor told me it is completely normal to feel very sleepy. Just rest and let your body heal.

When I was admitted for my surgery, the hospital staff strictly monitored my sleep patterns while on this medicine. If you are experiencing extreme lethargy or difficulty waking up, please ask your doctor clearly to adjust the dose.

I just got off my post-op medication last week. Yes, it makes you incredibly drowsy and you will sleep a lot during the first few days. Don't worry, it is just how the drug reacts, but definitely stick strictly to the prescribed times.

Do not take advice from random internet comments about how much you should sleep on this medication. Some people are highly sensitive to opioids, while others are not. Verify your symptoms and dosage directly with your doctor.

As a central nervous system depressant, oxycodone naturally induces sedation and sleepiness. However, using it specifically as a sleep aid is medically unsafe due to the risk of respiratory depression. Consulting your doctor for proper guidance is the most logical step.

Haan na, it really makes you feel very sleepy and heavy. When my uncle took it, he was sleeping almost the whole day. It is quite a strong medicine, so we must follow the doctor's instructions carefully, ho na.
