Does oxycodone help with tooth pain?

I'm having severe tooth pain and nothing seems to be helping much. My dentist is hard to reach right now, and I was wondering if a stronger painkiller like Oxycodone is typically used or effective for intense dental pain.

I got it prescribed after my wisdom tooth surgery because the pain was just unbearable. It definitely knocks the pain out, but it is a very strong medicine and made me super drowsy. Use it only if your dentist has specifically given it to you.

Tooth pain is really the worst, it doesn't let you sleep or eat. This medicine is very powerful and helps with severe pain, but please don't take it on your own. Ask a local dentist first to see what the real issue is.

Having thyroid issues has taught me that we must be very careful with heavy medications as they can interact with other things in our body. If you are using strong pain relievers, make sure to follow up with your doctor regularly to monitor your health.

Severe tooth pain can be so emotionally draining and makes you feel absolutely helpless. While oxycodone is very effective for extreme post-surgery pain, please make sure you have a doctor guiding you so you feel safe and supported.

For temporary toothache relief, putting a clove or a little warm salt water rinse is a good traditional method. If the pain is so severe that you need strong prescription pain relievers, you must visit a dentist immediately to check for infection.
