Does overactive thyroid make you tired?

My doctor thinks I might have an overactive thyroid, but I've been feeling extremely tired all the time, which seems counter-intuitive. Is it possible to have hyperthyroidism and still feel so fatigued?

Yes, absolutely. Even though an overactive thyroid speeds up the body, it actually burns up all your energy very fast, leaving you completely exhausted. My daughter went through this, and proper medication made a huge difference.

I ignored my fatigue thinking it was just work stress, but it turned out to be severe hyperthyroidism that affected my heart rate. Please don't ignore this tiredness, get a thyroid profile test done and see an endocrinologist.

It sounds contradictory, but hyperthyroidism makes your body run a marathon while you are just sitting. This constant high metabolism drains your battery completely, causing deep fatigue. Get a simple blood test done to check your T3, T4, and TSH.

My mother always tells me to rest and drink warm milk when I'm tired, but for thyroid issues, medical science is best. An overactive thyroid puts your body in overdrive, so exhaustion is very common. Please consult a doctor.

I tried various herbal teas and changing my diet to fix my constant fatigue, but nothing worked until I got my thyroid checked. Home remedies can support your health, but you need proper medical treatment to balance those hormones.
