Does overactive bladder cause pain?

I've been diagnosed with an overactive bladder, and sometimes I experience discomfort and a mild aching sensation in my lower abdomen. Is it typical for an overactive bladder to cause actual pain, or is the discomfort usually just the urge to go?

I'm already awake five times a night running to the washroom, and honestly, the sheer exhaustion is painful enough. If you are feeling physical pain on top of the constant urges, definitely get it checked because that's not normal.

An overactive bladder usually causes a sudden, strong urge to urinate rather than actual pain. Drinking tender coconut water can help soothe minor irritation, but if you have burning or sharp pain, it could be a UTI, so please see a doctor.

I had a similar issue last year where I had to rush to the bathroom constantly. It didn't really hurt, it was just super annoying and embarrassing. If you actually have pain, it might be an infection, so go get a urine test done.

Typically, OAB causes pressure and a frequent urge, but not actual physical pain. If you are experiencing pelvic pain or burning during urination, it is likely something else like an infection. A quick doctor's visit will clear this up.

My son had frequent urges due to a weak bladder, but it never caused him actual pain. If there is pain involved, please consult a pediatrician or urologist as it might be an infection that needs proper medicine.

Instead of guessing if it's OAB or an infection, just get a basic urine routine test done at a local lab, it costs very little. If the report shows any infection, then take it to a doctor so you don't waste money on multiple visits.

Honestly, constantly needing to pee during lectures is stressful enough. I don't think it's supposed to hurt though. If it actually hurts, you should probably just skip the next class and head to a clinic.

Frequent urges can be managed by pelvic floor exercises and avoiding tea or coffee before bed. However, if there is actual pain, these simple lifestyle changes won't solve it, and you must consult a doctor.

Managing frequent urination is tough, especially as we get older and deal with other issues like BP. Real pain shouldn't be part of an overactive bladder, so make sure to get a proper checkup to rule out prostate or bladder infections.

I was reading up on bladder health, and apparently OAB is mostly about the muscles spasming, which creates pressure, not pain. If there is actual pain, most medical sites suggest checking for kidney stones or UTIs instead.
