Does olive oil cleanse the liver?

I've been reading about various detox methods, and some sources claim that drinking olive oil can cleanse the liver. I'm always looking for natural ways to maintain health. Is there any scientific evidence or common knowledge that olive oil actually helps in cleansing the liver?

Drinking olive oil won't magically cleanse your liver. The best way to detox your liver is by cutting out alcohol, reducing sugar, and staying active with regular exercise. Your liver cleanses itself naturally when you feed it clean food and stay fit.

Please be very careful with these 'liver flushes' involving olive oil and lemon juice. I tried one last year and ended up with severe stomach pain and vomiting that required a hospital visit. If you suspect any liver issues, go see a doctor immediately instead of trying these extreme remedies.

I know how stressful it is when you get a fatty liver diagnosis and you feel desperate to fix it quickly. I spent hours reading about olive oil cleanses and felt so much pressure to try them. Just take it easy on yourself, regular simple meals and doctor's guidance are much safer than fast cleanses.

Honestly, drinking olive oil sounds so gross, I don't think I could ever do it. My biology professor told us that the liver doesn't need any external oil to clean itself anyway. Just drink lots of water and avoid eating too much junk food from the hostel mess.

I totally get it, when we read about natural detoxes online, we really want them to work. But consuming large amounts of olive oil can actually cause diarrhea and stomach upset. It is much better to just use a little bit of it in your normal daily salads for its healthy fats.
