Does oatmeal help eczema?

My skin has been very dry and itchy lately, and I suspect it might be a mild form of eczema. My aunt suggested using oatmeal as a home remedy. Does applying oatmeal or using it in baths actually help in soothing eczema?

Honestly, turning your bathtub into a giant bowl of morning porridge sounds weird, but your skin will thank you! Just don't add sugar or milk to the bathwater, okay? It really does soothe the crazy itchiness!

There is clinical evidence that colloidal oatmeal contains avenanthramides, which reduce skin redness and irritation. However, since eczema varies from person to person, consulting a dermatologist to plan your overall treatment along with this natural remedy is the most sensible approach.

While oatmeal is known to soothe dry skin, eczema can sometimes be triggered by specific skin infections or allergies. It is always safest to get a proper diagnosis from a dermatologist before trying any home baths, just to ensure you don't aggravate the skin.

I literally cried the first time my eczema flared up because the itching was unbearable. But trust me, an oatmeal soak really calms the redness down. It is very common and manageable, so please don't stress yourself out.

I tried self-treating my skin rash with various home baths for weeks, and it ended up getting a severe bacterial infection. Oatmeal baths are great for mild dryness, but if your skin is cracked or bleeding, please see a medical specialist immediately.

Hey buddy, don't stress too much about the skin flares. Just grind some normal oats, mix it in a tub of warm water, and soak. It gives instant relief from that irritating itch, you'll feel way better after it.

Applying colloidal oatmeal externally helps form a protective layer on the skin. Along with this, I suggest avoiding dairy products and gluten for a few weeks to see if your internal inflammation and eczema flares reduce naturally.

No need to buy fancy store-bought oatmeal body washes. Just take two cups of regular white oats, grind them into a powder in your kitchen mixer, and add it to your bucket of lukewarm water. It is a very cheap and effective solution.
