Does oatmeal cause diabetes?

My family has a history of diabetes, so I'm always careful about what I eat. I've heard some conflicting things about oatmeal – some say it's good, others say it can spike blood sugar. Can eating oatmeal regularly actually cause diabetes in the long run?

Food alone is never the enemy, it is all about finding a balance in life. Oatmeal is a wholesome food that nourishes us, it won't cause diabetes if you live a balanced life with mild daily walks. Stay positive and take care of your health with a peaceful mind.

Oatmeal se diabetes kaise hogi yaar? Haan, agar tum instant wale packed oats daily khao jisme dher saari sugar hoti hai, toh problem ho sakti hai na. Normal steel-cut oats khao, woh toh actually sugar level balance karne me help karte hain.

I totally get it, when diabetes runs in the family, we start doubting every single thing we eat. Honestly, plain rolled oats are very safe and high in soluble fiber which actually helps control glucose levels. Just avoid the flavored instant packets that are sold in supermarkets.

With only 4 hours of sleep and surviving on endless black coffee, I can guarantee oatmeal is the least of your worries. Just don't dump three spoons of sugar or honey into it and call it a 'healthy breakfast' and you won't get diabetes from it!

Oatmeal does not cause diabetes, but as vegetarians, we need to be mindful of total carb intake. If you eat oats, try cooking them with low-fat milk or water and add pumpkin seeds or almonds to slow down the sugar absorption. Keep your portions measured.
