Does not having a gallbladder affect your liver?

My father had his gallbladder removed a few years ago due to gallstones. Since then, he complains about some indigestion and sometimes feels a little off. Does not having a gallbladder affect the liver in any way, or is it unrelated?

I had my gallbladder removed two years ago and honestly, my liver is doing completely fine. The liver still produces bile normally, it just flows directly into the gut now instead of being stored. Just avoid too much oily junk food to keep things running smoothly.

The liver is a very resilient organ that adapts well after gallbladder surgery. Practicing gentle pranayama and eating light, easily digestible meals helps reduce the workload on your digestive system. Trust your body's natural healing power.

Don't worry, many people live perfectly normal lives without a gallbladder. The liver adapts very quickly to this change. Just eat simple food and take care of your health.

Please monitor your liver enzymes post-surgery. I had some bile duct blockage issues after my gallbladder removal which caused my liver readings to spike. If you feel any itching, jaundice, or upper right stomach pain, see your doctor immediately.

My mother is scheduled for gallbladder surgery next month and we are quite worried about this. Does the liver have to work much harder after the surgery? If anyone has faced this, please share how they managed their diet initially.

My son had his gallbladder removed last year due to stones. The doctor assured us it doesn't harm the liver, but we have to be careful with heavy fats because the bile is not concentrated anymore. We just give him simple, home-cooked food and he is perfectly healthy now.

After my cholecystectomy at Apollo, my surgeon explained that the liver takes over the bile regulation process naturally. However, you should get routine liver function tests done during your yearly checkups. Always consult your gastroenterologist to monitor your liver health post-surgery.
