Does norovirus start with vomiting or diarrhea?

My friend's child just started showing symptoms of what might be norovirus. I'm curious about how it usually begins. Does norovirus typically start with sudden vomiting, or is diarrhea the first symptom that appears?

In most cases, it hits you suddenly with severe vomiting first, followed by diarrhea a few hours later. Since it spreads like wildfire, isolate yourself immediately and take two days off from work. You will need absolute rest and constant hydration to recover quickly.

I have seen this bug go through many households over the years. Typically, it starts with sudden, projectile vomiting, especially in children, and then moves to loose stools. Don't worry, it is a very fast-moving virus and usually leaves your system completely within two days.

For me, it actually started with a very uneasy, nauseous feeling and mild stomach cramps, and then the vomiting started. Everyone's body reacts a bit differently depending on their gut health. Just be very gentle with yourself and don't hesitate to consult a doctor if you feel too weak.

I literally had this last week. It started with sudden vomiting out of nowhere in the middle of the night, and then the watery diarrhea started the next morning. Keep a bucket and plenty of electoral water nearby, because the first 12 hours are very intense.

Oh, it usually starts with vomiting first, which is super exhausting! I remember feeling totally fine, and suddenly I was running to the washroom. Just keep some wet wipes and ORS ready, and try to sleep through the worst of it.

It usually starts with acute nausea and vomiting. Once the initial phase passes and diarrhea begins, your gut will be extremely sensitive. Stick strictly to a bland vegetarian diet like clear vegetable broth, plain curd rice, or banana to help your intestines heal.
