Does norovirus cause vomiting?

My wife and I both felt quite unwell last night, very nauseous and some stomach cramps. Our neighbour said it could be norovirus from something we ate outside. But I didn't actually throw up, only felt like it. Does norovirus definitely make you vomit?

Yes, norovirus is very well known for causing sudden and severe vomiting. Please take care, stay hydrated, and rest as much as you can.

I was researching this because my cousin got sick suddenly. It turns out norovirus is actually the most common cause of acute gastroenteritis and projectile vomiting worldwide. It spreads really fast too.

Haan, bilkul ulti hoti hai aur bahut zyada hoti hai. Isme darna nahi hai, bas body mein paani ki kami mat hone dena. ORS peete raho thoda thoda karke.

I panicked so much when my son started vomiting non-stop every half hour! I thought it was some severe food poisoning, but the pediatrician reassured me it was just norovirus and would stop in 24 hours. And it did, so please stay calm.

Our bodies have their own way of clearing out toxins and viruses. Yes, vomiting is how it purges this infection. Stay positive, keep your mind calm, and let your body heal naturally with rest.

I had this last week and the vomiting started so suddenly out of nowhere. I couldn't even keep a single sip of water down for the first twelve hours. It is brutal but it completely stops after the first day.

Vomiting from norovirus drains all your electrolytes and leaves your muscles completely depleted. Avoid any kind of physical activity or gym workouts for at least a week after you recover to let your body fully replenish.

Yes, it causes severe vomiting. For those of us with other health issues like thyroid, vomiting can make it hard to keep our daily medications down, so please consult your doctor on how to manage your doses during this time.
