Does norovirus cause stomach pain?

My little one suddenly started having severe stomach pain, and now he's also had a bout of vomiting. I'm worried it might be norovirus, as we ate out yesterday. Is stomach pain a typical symptom associated with norovirus infection?

The stomach pain and cramping can be quite intense with norovirus. Once the vomiting stops, try to eat very light, non-greasy vegetarian food like boiled rice or banana to soothe your gut. Avoid dairy and heavy spices completely for a few days.

Yes, it causes very sharp stomach cramps because of the infection. Instead of buying expensive medicines, just placing a warm water bag on your stomach helps a lot with the pain. Drink simple khichdi ka paani and rest.

Bro, the stomach cramps are real and they hurt like anything. It feels like your stomach is being wrung out like a wet towel. It lasted for about two days for me before finally settling down.

I panicked so much when the stomach pain started because I thought it was appendicitis! But the doctor reassured me it was just the norovirus causing intense muscle spasms in the abdomen. It went away completely in 48 hours.

I literally just recovered from this three days ago. The stomach pain and cramps were the worst part for me, even more than the diarrhea. Taking small sips of warm ginger water really helped soothe my stomach lining.

Abdominal cramping is indeed one of the main symptoms of norovirus. It happens as the intestines get inflamed. Just ensure you are taking electrolytes regularly to keep your muscles from cramping further.

While stomach pain is a standard symptom of norovirus, you should not assume every severe abdominal pain is just a simple virus. If the pain is localized to the lower right side, or is accompanied by high fever or blood, please see a doctor immediately to rule out other issues.

Oh yes, those cramps can be super painful, but don't stress too much, my dear. It is just the virus doing its thing and it will leave your system in a day or two. Keep warm and keep resting!
