Does norovirus always have a fever?

My youngest child has been having loose motions and feeling really tired, but no fever so far. My neighbour said it could be norovirus. I'm curious, does every case of norovirus involve a fever, or can you have it without one?

I once thought I just had mild indigestion because I didn't have a fever, so I ignored it until I fainted from severe dehydration. Norovirus often doesn't cause a fever at all, but the fluid loss is still very dangerous. Please get checked by a doctor if you feel very weak.

You don't need to run for expensive laboratory panel tests immediately just because you don't have a fever. Most viral stomach bugs go away in 2-3 days with simple ORS which costs barely ten rupees. Just monitor yourself at home first before spending on big hospital visits.

From what I have experienced, stomach bugs can behave very differently in everyone. I didn't run a fever when I had it, just had extreme nausea and fatigue which took a toll on my body. It is always safer to consult your doctor for a proper checkup.

Honestly, when my flatmate and I got it, she had a mild fever but I just had a really bad stomach upset with zero fever. It varies so much! Just keep sipping coconut water and rest as much as you can.

Bro, I had norovirus last month and my temperature was totally normal the whole time. I was just vomiting my guts out and had crazy stomach cramps. So yeah, you definitely don't need to have a fever to have this nightmare virus.

No, fever is not a mandatory symptom for norovirus. While some people get a low-grade fever, many adults only experience acute vomiting and watery diarrhea. Don't wait for a fever to start taking hydration seriously.
