Does non alcoholic beer hurt your liver?

Some of my friends are trying to be healthier and have started drinking non-alcoholic beer. I also want to cut down on regular beer, but I'm worried if even the non-alcoholic version could harm my liver in the long run. My chacha (uncle) had liver issues, so I'm a bit extra concerned.

I switched to non-alcoholic beer last year thinking it was totally fine for my fatty liver. But during my routine blood test, my liver enzymes were still slightly elevated because of the high sugar and carbs in those drinks. My doctor told me to cut them out completely, and my reports are finally normal now.

I went through this entire phase when trying to quit alcohol. The reality is that while it is better than regular alcohol, the malt and sugars still keep your liver busy. Limit it to maybe once a week, drink plenty of water, and never use it as a daily replacement.

Please don't take any chances when it comes to liver health. Even zero-alcohol drinks can have hidden chemicals or high fructose corn syrup which can cause harm. It is extremely important to get a proper liver function test and consult a doctor before consuming these regularly.

I actually did not know that even non-alcoholic drinks could affect the liver. My brother has been drinking them quite often recently. Is there a specific ingredient on the label we should look out for to know if it is bad?

Many youngsters are switching to these drinks nowadays thinking they are healthy. But processed drinks always carry some load for our digestive system. It is much better to focus on a fresh diet, and if you must have these, do so very occasionally.

Oh god, I always worry about this too because my husband drinks them sometimes at dinners. I keep reading different things online and it gets so confusing. Just to be safe, I think we should get routine checkups done every six months so we don't have to constantly worry.

These modern drinks are not good for our traditional Indian systems. For a healthy liver, it is best to drink warm water with a little amla juice in the morning. Natural things are always better than these canned beverages which are full of chemicals.

Haan, log sochte hain ki alcohol nahi hai toh jitna marzi pi lo. But actually carbs aur calories toh utne hi hote hain na. Liver ko toh sugar process karni hi padegi. So moderate quantity mein hi thik hai, roz roz mat piyo.
