Does naproxen lower fever?

My daughter has a high temperature, and I'm looking for the best way to bring it down. I have Naproxen from an old prescription. Does Naproxen effectively lower fever?

It can reduce fever, but you should be very careful about the underlying cause of the fever. Self-medicating with strong anti-inflammatories can hide important symptoms. Please get evaluated by a qualified doctor first for proper diagnosis.

My doctor prescribed it to me last year when I had a high fever accompanied by severe body aches. It worked well to bring my temperature down, but I only took it because my physician specifically directed me to do so.

It does help with fever, but honestly, normal paracetamol is usually the go-to for most of us because it is much gentler on the stomach. Make sure you have some food before taking this one if your doctor has recommended it to you.

Yes, it acts as a fever reducer. When I had a mild fever, taking it helped, but I made sure to rest completely and avoid my gym sessions. Once the doctor says you are clear and your temperature is normal, you can slowly start light walking again.

Yes, it is an NSAID that helps lower fever and reduce pain. However, it shouldn't be your first choice for a simple fever unless prescribed. Keep yourself hydrated, note down your temperature, and speak to a doctor if the fever stays high.
