Does my infant sleep too much?

My baby is 3 months old and sleeps for almost 18 hours a day, sometimes waking only for feeds. While I appreciate the rest, I'm a bit concerned if this is a normal amount of sleep for an infant his age. Should I be worried he's sleeping too much?

I totally get it, as a new parent every little thing makes us worry so much! Newborns actually sleep up to 16-18 hours a day, which is completely normal. If they are feeding well and waking up alert, there is usually nothing to worry about.

Enjoy this quiet phase while it lasts, my friend! Once they grow up, you will be running behind them all day wishing they would sleep. Jokes aside, babies sleep a massive amount, but if they are too drowsy to feed, ask your pediatrician.

My sister just had a baby and honestly, that kid sleeps like 17 hours a day. I thought something was wrong too, but the doc said infants just do that to grow. As long as they wake up for milk, it is chill.

Little babies need all that rest to grow their beautiful minds and bodies. Stay positive and do not let anxiety cloud your motherhood. If the baby is wet and waking up happily for milk, all is well. Take care.

Please send some of those sleep vibes my way! My three-month-old thinks sleep is a punishment. But seriously, newborns sleep almost the whole day, just make sure they wake up to feed every few hours.

Yes, infants sleep a lot naturally. Just ensure they are waking up on time for their feeds and gaining weight properly.
