Does muscle strain cause fever?

My husband pulled a muscle in his back while lifting something heavy, and now he has a mild fever along with the pain. We're a bit confused if a muscle strain can actually cause a fever. Is this something we should be concerned about?

No, a simple muscle strain from working out or lifting things does not cause a fever. If you have both muscle pain and a fever, it is likely a viral infection or something else. Don't waste time waiting, go see a doctor to get a proper diagnosis.

In all my years, I have never seen a pulled muscle cause a fever. Usually, fever means there is some infection inside the body. Rest your muscle, but if the fever stays, please consult a medical practitioner immediately.

Bhai, naye kaam se ya jyada mehnat se sharir me dard toh hota hai par bukhar nahi aata. Agar aapko sach me bukhar lag raha hai, toh doctor babu ko dikha lijiye. Kahin thand lagne se ya viral toh nahi ho gaya.

Muscle soreness or a mild tear will cause localized pain and swelling, but never a systemic fever. If you have a fever, your body is fighting something else, so avoid any workouts or walking for now. Keep resting until your temperature returns to normal.

I get so anxious whenever my body aches, and if I had a fever too, I would definitely be calling my doctor right away. A fever usually points to an infection or inflammation, not just a strained muscle. Please get it checked out soon to be safe.
