Does mucinex cause vomiting?

My wife took Mucinex for her cold a few days ago, and she felt quite nauseous afterward, even vomited once. We're trying to understand if this was just a coincidence or if Mucinex can actually cause vomiting as a side effect.

I totally get it, feeling nauseous or vomiting when you are already sick is the absolute worst. Mucinex can sometimes irritate the stomach lining, especially if taken on an empty stomach. Try taking it with some food next time, and do let your doctor know if the vomiting continues.

Yes, it can sometimes cause nausea or vomiting, especially if your stomach is sensitive! Try to drink plenty of water and have a small snack before taking it. Hope you feel better soon! 😊

My stomach protests immediately if I take strong syrups or pills without eating anything first. Yes, Mucinex can cause vomiting if it doesn't suit you. Better to ask your doctor for an alternative before you ruin your appetite completely!

Nausea and vomiting are known side effects of Mucinex for some people. Taking it with a full glass of water and some food might help calm your stomach. Take care and rest well.
