Does ms relapse cause fever?

My brother, who has MS, is currently going through a relapse and he also developed a slight fever. We're not sure if this is a separate infection or if a relapse itself can trigger a fever. Any information would be helpful.

Actually, an MS relapse itself does not typically cause a fever. Usually, it is a fever or an infection that triggers a pseudo-relapse. Do not look for home remedies online, go see your doctor immediately to rule out any infection.

I know how terrifying it is when you feel your body temperature rising and worry if your MS is getting worse. A fever usually means your body is fighting an infection, which can temporarily mimic a relapse. Please take a deep breath and call your doctor's clinic.

Whenever I get a temperature, the doctors at my hospital always check for urinary infections first. You must ask your doctor clearly because a fever can make MS symptoms feel worse without it being a true relapse.

In my experience, even a tiny fever can make old MS symptoms flare up suddenly, which is called Uhthoff's phenomenon. It's usually an infection causing the fever, not the relapse itself, so keeping cool is super important.

I once ignored a mild fever thinking it was just fatigue, and my MS symptoms got severely worse because of an untreated infection. Please don't make the same mistake I did. Get a proper checkup done right away.

A fever is just your body indicating it needs attention and rest. Stay positive, keep your mind calm, and let the medical experts check what is causing the temperature. Take care of yourself.

Don't waste time waiting to see if it goes away on its own. A fever can worsen neurological symptoms rapidly. Call your neurologist's office immediately to get an appointment and find the root cause.

When my daughter's body temperature rises, her MS symptoms instantly seem to worsen, which is very scary for us. We learned that treating the fever itself with the doctor's help usually brings the symptoms back to normal. Please consult your pediatrician or physician.

Fever is often a sign of some underlying cold or infection, child. You can put a cool, damp cloth on your forehead to help lower the temperature, but you must consult your doctor immediately to get the right medicine.

Every time I feel slightly warm, I start panicking that a major relapse is coming. Does anyone else get super anxious like this when their temperature rises? It is so stressful to deal with.
