Does ms affect liver and kidneys?

My sister has MS, and she's been having some issues with her liver function lately. We're trying to figure out if it's related to her condition. Does Multiple Sclerosis affect the liver and kidneys?

MS is mainly a nervous system issue, but those strong disease-modifying drugs can sometimes affect liver enzymes. It's like fixing one part of the machine only to have another part complain! Always do your regular blood tests to keep an eye on them.

I was worrying about this exact same thing recently. MS primarily affects the brain and spine, but some of the treatments can impact liver or kidney function. It's so scary to think about side effects, but staying in touch with your doctor helps ease that anxiety.

Honestly, MS itself doesn't directly attack your liver and kidneys. But the heavy medications used to manage it can definitely put some pressure on them. My sleep-deprived brain can barely keep track of my water intake, but you should definitely drink plenty of water!

MS itself targets the nerves, but your lifestyle and meds decide how your liver and kidneys hold up. Drink plenty of water and eat clean. If your physician allows, moderate exercise also helps keep your body's metabolic functions running smoothly.

While MS is a nerve condition, the treatment plan can put a load on your liver. Eating a clean, fresh vegetarian diet and staying well-hydrated can help support your organs. Please discuss any dietary changes with your medical team first.

Normally, MS doesn't directly cause liver or kidney damage. It is usually the long-term medications that require regular monitoring. Wishing you lots of strength on this journey.

I ignored my routine blood monitoring while on heavy therapy once and ended up with elevated liver enzymes that took months to fix. Never skip the routine kidney and liver tests your doctor schedules. It is extremely important.

Haan na, actually the disease itself doesn't affect the liver, but those strong tablets we take can cause issues. That's why we have to do blood tests every few months. Take care and don't skip your checkups.

No, MS doesn't directly damage the liver or kidneys. However, disease-modifying therapies (DMTs) can, which is why routine blood work is mandatory. Just stay compliant with your tests and follow your specialist's advice.

I can only speak from my own journey with MS. My neurologist always orders regular liver and kidney function tests because of the daily medicines I take, not because of the MS itself. It's just a routine safety check.

I get so nervous every time I go for my blood tests. My doctor mentioned that some MS drugs can affect liver enzymes, and now I'm constantly worried. Has anyone else felt this kind of stress before their routine lab checks?

Don't search for MS symptoms on random websites, it will only terrify you. MS is a neurological condition, and any organ issues are usually related to the medicines. Talk to your neurologist directly and let them run the necessary blood panels.
