Does mouthwash cause cancer?

I use mouthwash daily for fresh breath, but I recently read something alarming online. It claimed that some ingredients in mouthwash can be linked to cancer. Does mouthwash cause cancer, and should I stop using it?

I read that some mouthwashes with very high alcohol content might irritate the mouth lining if used constantly. I prefer using alcohol-free ones just to be on the safer side.

I love eating spicy garlic tikka so mouthwash is a must for me! There's no solid proof it causes cancer, but changing to mild, non-alcoholic brands keeps the burning sensation away.

There is no strong scientific evidence linking mouthwash to oral cancer. Just use alcohol-free versions if you are worried.

Please don't worry too much about this. Regular mouthwash is safe to use, but you can always ask your dentist for a recommendation during your next cleaning.

When you have autoimmune or thyroid issues, your body can be sensitive to chemicals. It's best to have your regular checkups and ask your dentist if a natural rinse is better for you.

Why use harsh chemical mouthwashes every day anyway? I do simple oil pulling with sesame oil or gargle with warm salt water, it keeps the mouth fresh and clean naturally.
