Does motrin make you sleep?

Sometimes after taking certain pain medications, I feel very drowsy. I'm wondering if Motrin has that effect too. Will taking it make me feel sleepy during the day?

I was taking Motrin last week for a bad back strain. It doesn't actually have any sleeping medicine in it, but because it knocked out my intense pain, I was finally able to fall asleep peacefully. So it helps you sleep indirectly by making you comfortable.

As someone who struggles to get even 5 hours of sleep, I can tell you Motrin won't act like a sleeping pill, unfortunately! It is just a painkiller. If pain is what is keeping you awake, it will help, but otherwise, don't count on it to cure your insomnia.

Using Motrin just for sleep is a bad idea and a waste of money, plus it can lead to stomach issues which will cost you even more in doctor bills later. If sleep is an ongoing issue, it's better to save your money for a proper doctor's consultation or basic blood checks to see if there is a deficiency.

Motrin is a medicine for inflammation and pain, not for sleep, beta. If you are having trouble sleeping, try drinking a cup of warm turmeric milk before bed. It calms the nerves and is much better for the body than taking tablets unnecessarily.

No, Motrin does not contain sedative ingredients, so it shouldn't make you drowsy. If you are feeling unusually sleepy or fatigued after taking it, it could be a reaction or due to an underlying illness. Please discuss this with your physician to be safe.

I totally get it, when you are in pain or unwell, all you want is some quiet sleep. Motrin itself won't make you drowsy because it isn't designed that way, but once your pain reduces, your body naturally relaxes into sleep. I hope you get some good, restful sleep tonight.
