Does miralax cause abdominal pain?

I started taking Miralax a few days ago for constipation, as suggested by my family doctor. Since then, I've been feeling some discomfort and mild pain in my abdomen. Is it common for Miralax to cause abdominal pain?

Yes, if you take too much of it or don't drink enough water, it can cause cramping and mild pain. Make sure to mix it in a full glass of water and stay hydrated throughout the day.

My mother was given this for constipation. When she had slight stomach ache, our doctor advised us to reduce the dose slightly. It is best to consult your doctor before changing how you take it.

I struggle with gut issues because of PCOS and sometimes take laxatives. They can definitely cause some bloating and cramps initially. If the pain is sharp or doesn't go away, please check with a doctor.

Sometimes it does cause a bit of rumbling and mild cramping as things start moving! Just make sure to drink lots of water and eat light food.

Sometimes the stomach hurts because of gas buildup. A brisk 20-minute walk after meals really helps move things along naturally and reduces the need for laxatives.

Please be careful with laxatives. I once ignored severe abdominal pain thinking it was just gas from the medicine, but it was a more serious blockage. If the pain persists, go to a clinic immediately.

Instead of using these chemical syrups daily, try eating a bowl of papaya or drinking warm milk with a little ghee at night. It is much cheaper and won't cause any stomach pain.

I had some stomach ache when I first used it, but it went away once my bowel movements became regular. Just be gentle on your stomach and don't take it on an empty stomach.

Don't worry, mild cramping is quite common when your digestive system is adjusting to a laxative. However, if the pain is severe or you feel nauseous, stop taking it and see a doctor right away.

It can cause some gas and bloating, which feels like abdominal pain. I suggest tracking your daily fiber and water intake on an app, as lifestyle changes are much better than relying on laxatives.

When we have high sugar, constipation is common and laxatives can sometimes cause stomach discomfort. I prefer eating high-fiber green veggies and salads to keep my digestion smooth naturally.
