Does milk thistle really help your liver?

I've heard a lot of buzz about milk thistle for liver health, especially from people doing detox diets. I'm a bit skeptical about supplements. Does milk thistle really help your liver, or is it overhyped?

It can support your liver, but don't expect miracles if your diet is bad. I used it along with reducing my alcohol intake and fried foods, and my SGPT/SGOT levels came down. Supplement alone will not work, you must change your lifestyle.

These fancy supplements are quite expensive and not necessary for everyone. Simply drinking warm water in the morning and avoiding bakery items will help your liver much more. Save your hard-earned money and eat simple ghar ka khana.

My dad was prescribed a milk thistle brand by his doctor for his sluggish liver. It seems to help, but we also make sure he has papaya and light food daily. It is always better to take it under medical advice rather than buying off the internet.

A lot of my friends swear by it after heavy weekend dinners! But actually, our liver is very smart and cleans itself if we just eat clean and drink enough water. Rest up and stay healthy!

I am actually quite new to these wellness supplements and wanted to know about milk thistle. Is it safe to take for a normal teenager who just gets oily skin, or is it only for serious liver problems? Please guide me gently.
