Does milk help gastric pain?

Sometimes I get gastric pain after eating certain foods, and my grandmother used to say to drink a little milk. Does milk help gastric pain, or is it just an old wives' tale?

Yes, cold milk can sometimes give temporary relief from acidity, but it is not a permanent solution for gastric issues.

Haan yaar, thoda cold milk peene se acidity mein instant relief toh milta hai. Par agar heavy gastric pain ho toh doctor ko dikha lena chahiye, sirf dudh pe bharosa mat rakhna na.

Honestly, whenever I get bad acidity after eating hostel food, I just drink a glass of cold milk from the local dairy. It works like magic for a bit, but don't drink hot milk, that makes it worse.

I have tried many things for gastric pain over the years. Cold milk definitely coats the stomach and reduces the burning feeling quickly, but sometimes simple warm water with a pinch of hing works better. Avoid heavy meals and see a doctor if the pain is severe.

My grandmother always used to give us a cup of cold milk when we had a burning sensation in the stomach. While it helps calm things down initially, my doctor advised that full-fat milk can actually trigger more acid later. It is best to stick to light food and consult a doctor if the pain continues.
