Does microwave popcorn give you cancer?
I've been trying to eat healthier, and popcorn is a good snack option. But recently, I saw a post online asking if microwave popcorn causes cancer. Does anyone know if there's any truth to this?

I totally get why you are worried, there are so many scary articles online! From what I know, the microwave radiation itself doesn't cause cancer, and modern popcorn bags don't have those toxic chemicals anymore. I still prefer buying plain corn kernels and popping them in a pan with a little olive oil just to be safe and save some money.
Haan na, even I used to worry about this so much! Actually, those old chemical coatings on the inside of the bags were the main problem, but now companies have changed them. No need to panic, but making it at home in a cooker is always best, right?
Ram Ram ji. Don't worry, microwave popcorn does not cause such big diseases. But in our town, we still make it in a big iron kadhai with salt and a little turmeric. It tastes much better and you don't have to worry about any chemicals or machines.
My kids also demand popcorn every single weekend for movies. I did some research because I was concerned, and the current bags are safe. Still, to be fully sure, I just buy organic kernels and pop them on the gas stove with home-made butter so I know exactly what my children are eating.
I was actually thinking of buying a microwave this month and got a bit scared reading about this. Is it really safe if we use normal glass bowls to pop the corn instead of the store-bought packets? If anyone knows, please tell me.
