Does metformin cause cancer?

My family has a history of cancer, so I'm always cautious about medicines. I take Metformin daily, and a relative told me it could potentially cause cancer. Is there any truth to this?

Please don't worry about this. Some batches were recalled a few years ago because of minor impurities found during manufacturing, but Metformin itself does not cause cancer. My son has been taking it safely under medical supervision for his insulin levels, and our doctor assured us there is no risk.

I have been taking Metformin for my PCOS for two years now and had the same fear when I read some articles online. My gynecologist explained that the scare was about some external chemical contamination in certain brands, not the active ingredient itself. It's always best to buy from trusted, reputed pharmacy brands.

I remember panicking and almost stopping my pills when I saw a WhatsApp forward about this. But when I spoke to my endocrinologist, he laughed and said it was a highly distorted news report about manufacturing impurities that were quickly resolved. It is perfectly safe, so please don't worry.

Actually, Metformin is one of the most heavily researched drugs, and there is no clinical evidence showing it causes cancer. Most fitness and medical researchers actually view it as highly safe. Focus on your training, eat a clean diet, and keep your body active while taking your prescribed dosage.

Modern medicines often have many rumors floating around them. Metformin is a very old and trusted medicine for sugar control, and there is no need to panic. Along with your regular prescription, try to keep your diet simple and eat fresh karela or jamun seeds to help manage your sugar naturally.
