Does meniscus pain come and go?

Knee pain on and off for a while has been troubling me, especially after playing cricket or doing squats. It's not constant; sometimes it's fine for days, then it flares up. My physiotherapist mentioned meniscus issues, so I'm wondering if meniscus pain typically comes and goes like this.

Yes, meniscus pain absolutely comes and goes, especially when you twist your knee or walk too much. As someone with diabetes, I have to be very careful to keep moving to control my sugars, but I make sure not to strain my knee. Do get a proper diagnosis from an orthopedic doctor.

It definitely flares up and then subsides depending on how you move. I use warm sesame oil massage and a hot water bag to soothe the knee when it hurts. But if the knee locks up or swells badly, please consult an orthopedic doctor immediately.

My father's knee pain used to vanish for weeks and then suddenly return when he walked up stairs. My uncle suggested some home remedies, but we decided to get an MRI done as recommended by our doctor. It's always safer to trust the doctor's diagnosis for ligament issues.

Yes, meniscus tear pain is notorious for being unpredictable—you might feel completely fine one day and have sharp pain the next. It usually hurts more when you squat or climb stairs. Best to wear a good knee support brace and show it to an ortho doc.

Haan na, mere saath bhi aisa hi hota hai! Some days I feel absolutely normal like nothing is wrong, and suddenly twisting the knee brings back the pain. It is better to get an X-ray or MRI done so you know exactly what is happening inside.

I was so worried when my knee pain kept disappearing and coming back, thinking it was something very serious. But my doctor reassured me that this is typical for minor meniscus wear and tear. With a little physiotherapy and rest, it became much better and manageable.
