Does melatonin help you sleep?

Irregular sleep patterns have been my challenge because of my demanding job and frequent business trips. I've heard a lot about melatonin as a sleep aid, but I'm a bit skeptical. Can someone tell me if it genuinely helps you sleep better?

Yes, melatonin is quite effective for falling asleep faster, especially for jet lag. It is safe for short-term use.

Look, melatonin works, but only if you cooperate with it. If you take a pill and then stare at your phone screen for two hours, nothing will happen. Fix your habits first, then look for supplements.

It can help temporarily, but the body can produce its own melatonin if we follow natural cycles. Try to avoid screens after sunset and practice some light stretching or deep breathing before bed for a more peaceful sleep.

It definitely helped me when my college sleep schedule was completely ruined. I used to stay awake till 4 AM, but melatonin helped me shift my cycle back to 11 PM. It's really helpful if you use it correctly!

According to my fitness band, taking 3mg of melatonin about 30 minutes before bed increases my deep sleep percentage. It definitely helps with sleep onset latency, but make sure to use it as a tool, not a crutch.

Melatonin is a cheap and effective option compared to expensive sleep therapies. You can easily find it online or at local pharmacies for under 200 rupees. Just buy a lower dose first to see if it works for you.

Do not blindy buy melatonin thinking it solves all sleep disorders. It only helps with circadian rhythm issues, not anxiety-induced insomnia. Get a proper evaluation from a physician before self-medicating.

With my PCOS, sleep issues are very common, and melatonin does help me wind down. However, because our hormones are already sensitive, I always suggest asking your gynecologist before starting it.

Honestly, it works really well for me when I have to sleep early for morning classes. I just take a 5mg tablet and I am out within 40 minutes. No morning hangover or anything, it's pretty solid.
