Does medicare pay for mental health therapy?

My doctor has recommended I explore mental health therapy for my anxiety. I'm worried about the long-term costs. Does anyone know if health insurance in India covers mental health therapy sessions? Any insights would be great.

Yes, standard medical policies are required to cover mental health therapy now. However, if your policy doesn't have good outpatient coverage, you can look for government hospital psychiatric departments which offer excellent therapy almost for free.

Drinking herbal teas and practicing daily meditation can calm the mind, but professional therapy is necessary for deeper mental struggles. Standard health insurance definitely covers psychiatric therapy today. Please visit a certified doctor for proper guidance.

Between work stress and family responsibilities, we all need some therapy! Luckily, our medical policies do cover mental health sessions now, so we don't have to get stressed about the therapist's bill at least.

When my emotional eating got out of hand, therapy really helped me understand my food cravings. Most health plans do pay for mental health counseling and therapy sessions now. It is totally worth claiming to get your peace of mind back.

I was researching this for a friend and found out that IRDAI has made it mandatory for Indian insurers to cover mental health therapy. It is great because so many people can now access therapy without worrying about the high hourly fees.

I am thinking of starting therapy but I am a bit nervous about how to claim it under my family's health insurance. Do we need a doctor's referral letter first to show the insurance company, or can we go directly to a therapist?

Listen, health insurance covers mental therapy just like any physical disease. Don't hesitate to visit a licensed psychologist. Just keep all prescription slips and pharmacy bills ready for a hassle-free claim.
