Does medicare pay for diabetic test strips?

I have diabetes and use a lot of test strips to monitor my blood sugar. They're not cheap! I was wondering if my health insurance plan specifically covers diabetic test strips. It would help a lot with managing my condition.

I am so worried about the recurring cost of these test strips, they seem to run out so fast. Does insurance really cover them without any issues? I hope I don't have to face claim rejections later for claiming too many strips.

Yes, basic insurance plans cover these test strips under outpatient benefits. Keep tracking your sugar regularly, and try to include a 30-minute jog or active yoga daily if your health permits. Active living helps keep those sugar spikes away.

Yes beta, the insurance will cover these strips if your doctor prescribes them. For managing your sugar levels, along with testing, you can also drink warm fenugreek (methi) water in the morning. It is a very safe and age-old practice.

Yes, they cover the strips, which is great because testing constantly after cheating on my diet with sweets is my daily routine! Just make sure your doctor writes down how many times you need to test daily so the insurance covers the quantity.
