Does medicare cover sleep apnea test?

My husband snores very loudly and often stops breathing in his sleep, so his doctor suggested he get a sleep apnea test. I'm curious if our health insurance policy typically covers the cost of such sleep studies.

Yes, sleep apnea is a genuine medical condition, so diagnostic sleep tests are covered if a pulmonologist prescribes it. Don't go booking random home tests on your own; get a proper doctor's prescription first so your claim goes through easily.

If your snoring is loud enough to wake up the neighbors, the doctor will definitely prescribe a sleep study! The good news is most health policies cover this diagnostic test, so your wallet won't have to suffer along with your sleep. Just get the paperwork sorted before you snooze!

As someone managing high BP, my doctor actually recommended a sleep apnea test because poor sleep directly affects blood pressure. Standard health policies do cover diagnostic sleep studies under specialist advice. Along with the test, do focus on some light evening walks and regular BP tracking.

We had to get a sleep study done for my teenager who was struggling with severe snoring and daytime fatigue. Most major health plans and government schemes do cover the diagnostic sleep test if it's recommended by a specialist. It really helped us pinpoint the issue, so please get it scheduled.

Please don't delay this sleep test because untreated sleep apnea can lead to severe heart complications, as I learned the hard way. Fortunately, almost all standard medical schemes cover the diagnostic sleep study. Go see a pulmonologist immediately and get the proper test done under their guidance.
