Does medicare cover gum disease?

I've been having some persistent gum problems, and my dentist said it might be serious gum disease needing extensive treatment. I wanted to find out if general health insurance policies in India typically cover dental procedures for gum disease.

Gum disease is the absolute worst because it completely ruins the joy of eating spicy tikkas and hot jalebis. I think basic Medicare doesn't cover routine dental or deep cleanings unless it requires serious surgery. Better check with your plan soon so you can get treated and go back to enjoying your favorite meals peacefully.

Honestly, you should first get a proper checkup with a dentist to see how severe the gum issue is. Insurance or Medicare rules for dental can be very tricky and often only cover basic or emergency stuff. Don't delay the checkup waiting for paperwork clarity, as gum infections can get painful and spread quickly.

Actually, dental coverage in these standard plans is very limited, yaar. For gum disease, they might only cover it if it becomes a major medical emergency or requires proper jaw surgery. Best is to call your insurance provider directly and ask them what is allowed, don't just guess.

Generally, standard Medicare Part A and B don't cover routine dental care like cleaning or treating periodontitis. However, if the gum disease is linked to another serious medical condition or requires hospitalization, some parts might be covered. Please get a detailed treatment plan from your dentist and verify it with your provider.

For gum pain, you can do warm water salt rinses twice a day, it gives temporary relief and keeps the mouth clean. But remember, for proper treatment, please check your policy details as dental work is often excluded from basic Medicare. Take care of your health first and visit a good clinic.
