Does measles cause vomiting?

My little one has measles right now and has started vomiting since yesterday. I'm worried if this is part of the measles or something else entirely. Is vomiting a common symptom for measles in children?

Haan na, it can definitely cause vomiting and stomach upset in some cases. When my nephew had measles, he was throwing up a lot because of the high fever and general weakness. Just keep giving them small sips of water or ORS.

I had measles a few years back and honestly, the nausea was really bad. I couldn't keep any solid food down and vomited a couple of times on the second day. It's best to stick to very light liquid stuff.

While vomiting can occur with measles due to high fever or gastrointestinal complications, it is crucial to consult your doctor. Go to a hospital if the vomiting is severe or if the patient cannot retain any fluids, as dehydration can happen rapidly.

At this age, even a mild flu makes my stomach churn, so measles can definitely cause vomiting, especially with that high fever. Just make sure to keep a bucket handy and don't force them to eat heavy food.

Vomiting can happen when the body is trying to fight off the heavy viral load. Giving small spoons of fresh coconut water can help soothe the stomach and prevent dehydration. However, if the vomiting continues, please see a doctor immediately.
