Does massage help arthritis?

My joints feel very stiff and painful due to arthritis, especially in my hands. A friend suggested I try gentle massages to get some relief. Does massage therapy actually help manage arthritis symptoms in the long run?

Look, massage will only give you temporary relief from stiffness, it won't cure arthritis. Go see a proper rheumatologist and take your daily medicines. Don't rely only on massage guys.

Yes, gentle massage can help improve blood circulation and reduce joint stiffness. However, never apply heavy pressure directly on inflamed joints, as that can make the pain worse. Use warm oil and a very light touch.

A good warm oil massage feels amazing, but don't expect it to fix your joints like a mechanic! It is great for relaxing your muscles after a long day, but keep your doctor's prescriptions handy.

Instead of paying for expensive spa massages, just buy a bottle of warm sesame oil and do a gentle self-massage at home. It is much more practical and saves you thousands of rupees every month.

I manage my chronic PCOS pain and inflammation with gentle therapies, and I find light massage helpful for body aches. Just make sure to consult your doctor before trying it, as some joint conditions require very specific care.
