Does lung cancer hurt?

I was watching a health program on TV and they were discussing different types of cancers. It made me wonder, for conditions like lung cancer, do patients experience physical pain as a symptom? Or is it often painless until advanced stages?

I am a bit hesitant to ask, but does the pain start only in the later stages, or can it hurt in the beginning too? My relative has some constant side pain and we are quite worried. If anyone knows how it usually starts, please share.

I totally get it, worrying about a loved one being in pain is extremely stressful and heartbreaking. It can cause deep aching in the chest or shoulder area, especially during coughing. Please stay strong and get a professional opinion to ease your mind.

Bhai, it can indeed cause a lot of pain in the chest and back when the disease spreads. God forbid anyone has to go through it. Please take your family member to a big city doctor quickly for a proper checkup.

Honestly, my grandfather had it and he did experience sharp pain when taking deep breaths. It wasn't just a simple ache, it was quite persistent. Don't sit on it, just get an X-ray done to be absolutely sure of what's happening.

In our times, we tried warm mustard oil rubs for chest congestion, but for severe, deep-seated pain, these remedies will not work. Serious diseases like this do cause significant pain if left untreated. I advise seeking proper clinical care immediately.
