Does lung cancer cause coughing?

I've had a persistent cough for the past few weeks, and it doesn't seem to be getting better with home remedies. My neighbor told me that a continuous cough can sometimes be a sign of something serious, like lung cancer. Is coughing a common symptom of lung cancer?

Look, yes it can cause a persistent cough that doesn't go away. But don't start googling and panicking thinking any simple cough is cancer. If someone has a cough for more than 2-3 weeks, just go to a proper clinic and get it checked.

I completely understand why you are asking this, health anxiety can make your mind run to the worst conclusions. Yes, coughing is one of the main signs of lung cancer, but a normal viral infection or allergy also causes terrible coughs. Please breathe, and just consult a specialist to clear your doubts instead of worrying all night.

For normal congestion, I always suggest warm turmeric milk or ginger-honey mixture to soothe the throat. But if the cough is deep, persistent, or if there is chest pain, no home remedy will help. You must consult a doctor immediately for proper tests.

Actually yes, it is one of the most common symptoms. But yaar, don't get stressed immediately because even heavy pollution in our cities makes everyone cough like crazy these days. Just get a doctor's opinion to be totally safe.

Haan, bilkul ho sakta hai, coughing is a major sign of this disease. Par normal thand ya pollution se bhi toh khansi hoti hai na. Agar khansi mahino se hai aur theek nahi ho rahi, tab doctor ko dikhana zaroori hai boss.

Usually, a dry or wet cough that keeps getting worse over weeks is a primary symptom we see in these cases. Sometimes there might even be tiny drops of blood in the phlegm, which needs immediate attention. Better to get a chest X-ray done under a doctor's advice rather than trying random syrups at home.
