Does lung cancer cause back pain?

My father has been complaining of a nagging back pain for quite some time now, and it's not going away easily. We are a bit worried and someone suggested it could sometimes be linked to serious illnesses. Can lung cancer manifest as back pain?

Haan, lung cancer se back pain ho sakta hai agar tumor spine ke paas pressure daal raha ho. Par har back pain cancer nahi hota na, toh faltu tension mat lo. Kisi achhe doctor ko dikha ke confirm kar lo.

Yes, it can, especially if the cancer spreads to the bones or spine, or presses on the thoracic nerves. If you or a family member are experiencing persistent back pain along with shortness of breath or fatigue, please schedule an appointment with a specialist immediately.

My father had severe persistent back pain that we thought was muscular, but it turned out to be due to a tumor in his lung pressing on the nerves. If back pain doesn't go away with rest or normal pain relief in a week or two, please demand a chest X-ray from your doctor.

Oh god, reading about back pain and lung cancer makes me so anxious because my back aches all the time! But honestly, most back pain is just muscle strain from sitting badly. Still, to calm your mind, please consult a general physician and get a proper diagnosis done.

I went through a massive panic attack last month thinking my shoulder and back pain was lung cancer, but my chest X-ray was completely clear. It was just a severe muscle spasm from a bad gym workout. Don't jump to the worst conclusion, just get a simple doctor checkup to clear your mind.

Listen, back pain is a very general symptom, but if it is accompanied by chronic coughing, blood in sputum, or sudden weight loss, it's a serious red flag. Stop Googling symptoms and go straight to an oncologist or pulmonologist for a proper checkup.

I have been having this persistent dull ache in my upper back for three weeks and Google immediately showed lung cancer as a cause. Did anyone else here have back pain as their very first symptom before being diagnosed? I am extremely worried right now.

I was reading about this on a medical blog and yes, if a tumor grows larger or spreads, it can definitely cause severe upper back or shoulder pain. But back pain is so common from posture too, so it's always best to get a scan done to be sure.
