Does lotion help psoriasis?

I've had psoriasis for years, and sometimes it really flares up, making my skin dry and flaky. I use prescribed creams, but in between, I often apply lotion. Does regular moisturizing lotion really make a difference or help with psoriasis symptoms?

Yes, keeping the skin moisturized is crucial, but ordinary cosmetic lotions are not enough for psoriasis. You need thick, coal tar or salicylic acid-based ointments that help lift the plaques. Always keep your doctor in the loop.

Don't go buying expensive herbal lotions online claiming to cure psoriasis in a week. Psoriasis is an autoimmune issue, and only a dermatologist can prescribe the correct steroid or non-steroid creams that actually work.

I know how frustrating psoriasis scaling can be, especially when you want to wear dark clothes. Regular watery lotions didn't help me at all, but switching to urea-based creams made a huge difference in smoothing my skin.

Don't waste time trying multiple body lotions from the supermarket. Psoriasis needs specific medically formulated creams. Just visit a dermatologist once, get the right ointment, and save yourself the trial and error.

Along with applying heavy moisturizers to soothe the outer skin, focus on reducing internal inflammation. Regular exercise, cutting out processed sugar, and drinking plenty of water worked wonders for my skin health.

Keep that skin hydrated! 🌸 Thick moisturizing creams without any strong perfume work best to soothe the itching. Hope your skin feels much better very soon! 😊

Instead of fancy imported creams, just use pure white petroleum jelly or liquid paraffin. It is very cheap, completely safe, and keeps the scaling under control. Apply it twice a day, especially in winter.

Dude, don't stress too much about the dry patches, it only makes psoriasis flare up more. Normal lotions won't do much, so try using heavy paraffin-based creams or coconut oil right after your shower while the skin is damp.
