Does lemon tea cause kidney stones?

I've cut down on my tea intake and switched to lemon tea, thinking it's a healthier option. However, I recently heard a rumour that lemon tea could actually cause kidney stones. Is there any truth to this, or is it just misinformation?

No, lemon tea doesn't cause kidney stones. In fact, the lemon in it actually helps prevent them because of the citrate content.

Don't worry about lemon tea causing stones, that is not true at all. The lemon actually acts as a protective shield for your kidneys. Just make sure you are drinking enough normal water throughout the day.

Beta, lemon tea is very good for digestion and will not cause kidney stones. But do not drink it too many times a day, as excess black tea can cause dryness and acidity. Moderation is always key in health.

My urologist explained that black tea is rich in oxalates, which can cause stones, but the citric acid in lemon actually prevents stone formation. So, adding lemon to your tea is actually a very smart choice.

In my experience, black tea has high oxalates which can contribute to stones if taken in excess. However, adding fresh lemon juice actually neutralizes this effect beautifully. Keep your body hydrated and practice gentle yoga daily.
