Does lemon help with acidity?

I often experience acidity after meals, and someone suggested that lemon water might actually help neutralize it. This sounds a bit counterintuitive, as lemon is acidic. Can lemon really help with acidity?

I used to panic and think my acidity was a heart attack, and someone told me to drink heavy lemon juice. It actually made my reflux much worse! Later my doctor reassured me that raw lemon can trigger acid, so now I avoid it and feel perfectly fine.

Beta, lemon is very sour and can sometimes make your burning sensation worse if your stomach is weak. For acidity, I always suggest drinking cold milk slowly or chewing a little fennel seeds after meals. Be careful with citric fruits when you are already in pain.

Haan yaar, ye acidity ka badi problem hai. Kuch log bolte hain nimbu paani piyo par honestly, mere ko toh usse aur zyada khatti dakar aane lagti hai, na? Isse accha thoda sa dahi ya saunf ka paani le lo, wo bahut safe hai.

Humare yahan toh jab pet mein jalan hoti hai, toh nimbu nahi dete hain. Nimbu se aur zyada khattapan ho jata hai pet mein. Aap thoda sa thanda dhoodh pee lijiye, usse turant aaram mil jayega aur jalan shant ho jayegi.

Actually, lemon doesn't suit everyone when they have acidity. For some, it makes it worse, while others feel better. It is safer to drink plain lukewarm water and rest for a bit.
