Does laughing gas help with pain?

A dental procedure coming up has me really nervous because of the pain. My friend suggested asking the dentist about 'laughing gas' to help. Does laughing gas actually help reduce pain during procedures, or is it just for calming you down?

Haan, bilkul help karta hai! When I got my root canal done, they gave me laughing gas and I barely felt the needles, na. It just makes you feel a bit floaty and relaxed.

Yes, it really does! It won't make you completely numb, but it makes you so relaxed and happy that you just don't care about the pain anymore. Don't stress too much about your upcoming dental appointment, it's going to be super smooth.

Scientifically, nitrous oxide (laughing gas) acts as a mild analgesic and anxiolytic. It elevates your pain threshold so you can tolerate dental or minor surgical procedures much better. It wears off within minutes of breathing normal oxygen, which is very convenient.

When my mother had her minor procedure at a reputed hospital, the anesthesiologist explained that laughing gas manages mild pain and high anxiety very well. I highly recommend asking your doctor clearly about the dosage and if it is suitable for your specific pain levels.

I have severe medical anxiety and dental pain was a nightmare for me to the point of tears. Laughing gas was a blessing because it calmed my racing heart and made the pain feel far away. It is completely okay to need this help to get through your treatment.

Yes, laughing gas is an excellent, quick-acting pain reliever for minor procedures. It basically sedates your central nervous system slightly so the pain signals don't bother you. The best part is it has no hangover effect once the mask is off.

In our days we didn't have these gases, we just tolerated dental pain or used clove oil on the tooth. But my grandson tried this laughing gas during his treatment and said it works wonderfully. For mild swelling after the treatment, you can do warm salt water rinses at home.

My grandmother was skeptical and advised me to just bear the pain, but I trusted my dentist and opted for nitrous oxide. It was a very calm and painless experience. Medical technology is there to help us, so we should trust our doctors.

While laughing gas is generally safe for pain, you must ensure the clinic has proper monitoring equipment. Always tell the doctor about your medical history, asthma, or any respiratory issues beforehand to ensure it is completely safe for you.

I am so terrified of dentist visits and they suggested laughing gas for my wisdom tooth extraction. Does it really block the pain completely, or will I still feel the pulling and pressure? I am super nervous about feeling trapped under the mask.
