Does lack of sleep causes cancer?

An article online recently talked about how lifestyle factors contribute to cancer, and lack of sleep was mentioned. For the past decade, I've averaged only 5-6 hours of sleep a night. I'm quite worried now, does chronic lack of sleep actually cause cancer?

Please do not let such fearful thoughts disturb your mind. Fear and anxiety harm our bodies more than anything else. Take deep breaths, pray a little before sleeping, and trust that your body has a beautiful capacity to heal when you give it peace.

Oh god, please don't search Google for these things, it always shows the worst stuff and scares us! Lack of sleep might lower your immunity and make you feel tired, but it doesn't directly cause such extreme things. Just try to sleep early tonight and give your body some rest.

Look, chronic sleep deprivation can weaken your immune system over a long period, which makes it harder for your body to fight infections. But it is not a direct trigger for cancer. Just try to fix your sleep hygiene and get 7-8 hours of rest so your body can repair its cells daily.

Do not worry too much. While good sleep is very important for our general immunity and health, there is no direct need to panic about severe diseases just because of a few bad nights. Take care of yourself.

My son also stays up till 3 AM studying or on his phone, and I used to worry constantly about his health. But don't let these extreme thoughts scare you. Just make a rule to keep devices outside the room and drink warm milk before sleeping; it really helps.
