Does l glutamine help liver?

I've been trying to support my liver health, especially after a recent check-up. A friend told me L-Glutamine could be beneficial. Does L-Glutamine help the liver in any way, or is it just for muscle repair?

Hey there! Yes, l-glutamine is actually quite good for gut health, and since a healthy gut means fewer toxins reaching the liver, it indirectly helps it a lot. Just drink plenty of water and eat your green veggies daily alongside!

I know how stressful it is when you are trying to find something to protect your organs, as I went through a major health scare myself. L-glutamine actually helps by reducing ammonia build-up in the body, which relieves some load from the liver. But please don't start it without asking a doctor first, it will save you so much worry.

My uncle was looking into this for his fatty liver issue recently. Glutamine can help protect tissues, but his hepatologist clearly said that lifestyle changes and weight loss are the only real cures for liver health. Don't rely solely on supplements, simple home-cooked food is the best.

I have seen many people in our community ask about liver health. While glutamine helps with protein synthesis and protecting gut walls, the best medicine for your liver is actually reducing oily foods and avoiding alcohol completely. No supplement can fix a bad diet, so start from the basics.

I was also thinking of taking it, but I read somewhere that excess amino acids can sometimes put pressure on the kidneys and liver. Did anyone here with mild liver issues try l-glutamine? Did it cause any elevation in your SGOT or SGPT levels?

In patients with severe liver cirrhosis, we sometimes see glutamine being monitored carefully because of ammonia levels. For a healthy person, it's fine, but if you have existing liver issues, please don't self-medicate. Get an LFT (liver function test) done and let a doctor prescribe what you actually need.

Haan, thoda bahut help toh karta hai because it helps clean toxins, but akele supplement se kuch nahi hoga na. Liver ke liye sabse badhiya hai ki bahar ka junk aur excessive sweets band kar do. Normal ghar ka khana khao aur thoda walk karo, bas.
