Does kidney pain hurt to touch?

I have some discomfort in my lower back, and when I press on it, it feels tender. Would kidney pain typically hurt when you touch the area?

Look, kidney is deep inside your body, so just pressing your skin lightly won't usually make it hurt more. If pressing hurts, it is likely a muscle strain. But don't sit around guessing—go to a doctor and get an ultrasound done.

No, kidney pain is internal and doesn't typically hurt when you press the skin on your back or side. Muscle pain, on the other hand, is tender to touch. If you have deep internal throbbing, skip the pain balms and book a doctor's appointment.

I know how stressful it is when you keep pressing your back trying to figure out if it's muscle or kidney. It is completely normal to feel scared when you are in pain. Please don't stress yourself out, just let a doctor examine you for peace of mind.

I literally had a kidney stone last month. Pressing my back didn't change the pain at all; it was just a constant, deep ache that made me sweat. If you feel that deep ache, definitely visit a urologist.

At my age, everything hurts to touch some days! But seriously, kidney pain is too deep to care about a finger press. If pressing makes you scream, it is probably a bad muscle spasm from trying to look young at the gym.

Don't waste time trying to diagnose yourself by poking your back. If the pain is severe, a simple physical exam by a doctor and a cheap urine test can clarify things easily. It is much better than worrying at home.

For muscle tenderness, applying warm sesame oil can help. But if the pain is deep and unaffected by touch, it might be the kidney. If you have fever or burning during urination, please skip the home remedies and consult a doctor.

I was poking my side for hours yesterday thinking it was a kidney issue and got so anxious. My wife told me to stop overthinking and we went to the doctor, who said it was just a surface muscle issue. Please get it checked to avoid this mental stress!
